Have your say: Young People's Sexual Health Survey 2026
We want to hear from young people across the South West about sexual health.
What do young people know about chlamydia? Do you know where to get free contraception? Would you feel confident getting emergency contraception if you needed it?
We're running a short survey to find out what young people think, know and experience when it comes to sexual health.
Why are we doing this?
Sexual health services need to work for the people who use them.
Young people can face different barriers when looking for information, testing or contraception – from not knowing where to go, to concerns about privacy, embarrassment, cost or simply finding the time.
We want to understand what young people actually think and need, rather than making assumptions.
The survey asks about:
- Chlamydia – what you know about it, testing and where you'd feel comfortable getting tested
- Contraception – awareness of different methods and how easy it is to access them
- Emergency contraception – knowing where to get it and what might make accessing it difficult
- Sexual health information – where you get information and which sources you trust
- Your views – what would make it easier for young people to look after their sexual health
Your views could help shape future services
The survey is being used to help us understand the experiences and priorities of young people across the region.
The findings will help inform our work with partners and commissioners, and help us think about how sexual health information, testing and contraception can be made more accessible.
Understanding why people do or don't access testing and contraception is an important part of improving services.
The survey takes around 5 minutes
It's also completely anonymous and you don't need to provide your name.
You can take part whether you're:
- at school or college
- at university
- an apprentice
- working
- looking for work
- not currently in education, employment or training
- or something else.
Your experiences and opinions are valuable, whether or not you've ever used a sexual health service.
