Just Test is a community-led scheme from The Eddystone Trust designed to make HIV testing as easy and accessible as possible.
It brings free, anonymous, “grab and go” HIV self-testing kits into everyday community spaces across Devon and Torbay.
No sign-ups. No waiting rooms. No pressure.
Just walk in, pick up a test, and go.
Why it matters
Let’s be honest—testing can still feel like a big deal.
Even though HIV testing is quick, reliable, and easier than ever, stigma and anxiety can stop people from taking that step. And the reality is:
- HIV doesn’t always show symptoms
- The only way to know your status is to test
- Early diagnosis means people can live long, healthy lives
Just Test tackles the real barrier here: not the test itself, but everything around it.
It removes the friction. The hesitation. The “I’ll do it another day.”
How it works (it really is this simple)
The beauty of Just Test is in its simplicity. It’s a four-step process that puts you fully in control:
1. Find a venue
Pop into a participating location in your community—places you already know and use.
2. Grab a test
Look for the Just Test stand, take a kit, and leave. No questions asked.
3. Test in your own space
Take the test somewhere you feel comfortable. Results come back in around 15 minutes.
4. Share your feedback
A quick anonymous survey helps improve the service for others.
That’s it. No hoops. No judgement.
