World AIDS Day 2025: Claim Your Status and Join the Action
As World AIDS Day approaches on December 1st, we’re excited to share our plans for this year’s campaign — centred around the theme Claim Your Status, encouraging everyone to take control of their health and get tested for HIV.
This year, we’re placing an even greater emphasis on community, visibility, and empowerment, and we invite everyone in the South West to get involved.
1. World AIDS Day Statement
We’ll be releasing our annual World AIDS Day statement, in either video or written format, sharing reflections from across our team and community. This year’s message celebrates progress, calls for continued action, and highlights how everyone can play a role in ending HIV stigma.
Keep an eye on our website, social media channels, and inboxes around December 1st to view and share the message.
2. Community Events & Fundraising
We’re proud to be working with local groups, venues, and partners to host community events across the South West. These events raise both visibility and funds to support people living with HIV.
If your organisation or group would like to get involved — by hosting an event, wearing red ribbons, or fundraising — we’d love to hear from you. Simply contact us to find out how you can help.
3. Launching Our New to the UK Portal
World AIDS Day will also mark the official launch of our New to UK online portal, designed for people new to the UK living with or affected by HIV.
The portal offers:
-
Trusted information on living well with HIV in the UK
-
Guidance on rights and access to services
-
Opportunities to connect with a supportive online community
If you work with people who are new to the UK, please help us share this service with those who may benefit from it.
4. Our First World AIDS Day Survey
We’re launching our first annual World AIDS Day survey to explore community attitudes and behaviours around HIV testing. The insights we gather will help shape our outreach, services, and campaigns.
Take the survey yourself — it takes around 2 minutes — and help us by sharing the survey link with friends, colleagues, and clients.
5. Bite-Sized HIV Training
Bring your lunch (if you like!) and your curiosity as we explore the significance of World AIDS Day.
Our Bite-Sized HIV Training sessions are short, engaging, and informative — ideal for teams, workplaces, or community groups who want to learn more.
Discover key facts, the latest updates, and practical ways to contribute to the fight against HIV transmission, stigma, and discrimination. All sessions are delivered online and can be tailored to suit your schedule.
Contact us today on training@eddystone.org.uk to book your bite-sized session.
6. Order Your World AIDS Day Packs
Our World AIDS Day engagement packs — including red ribbons, leaflets, and information on this year’s campaign — are now available to order.
Packs are perfect for workplaces, schools, and community spaces to show support and spark conversations.
7. Digital Media Packs
We’ve also created updated digital media packs to help share our messages online. These include social media graphics, suggested posts, and visuals around Claim Your Status, U=U, and testing.
Please share widely across your networks to help raise awareness.
As with last year, The Eddystone Trust will not be using X/Twitter, but we encourage sharing on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok to reach as many people as possible.
Together, let’s make World AIDS Day 2025 a day of visibility, pride, and community action. Thank you for standing with us in the fight against HIV stigma and inequality.
