Join Our Team – Make a Real Difference in Cornwall and Gloucestershire
Are you someone who wants their work to matter? Do you believe that everyone deserves access to good sexual health support, free from stigma and judgement? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
At The Eddystone Trust, we’re looking for new Community Sexual Health Workers to join our team – one based in Cornwall and one in Gloucestershire. These are exciting opportunities to be part of a small, passionate charity that’s committed to making a big difference across the South West.
What’s the role?
As a Community Sexual Health Worker, you’ll be delivering outreach, education, and one-to-one support around HIV and sexual health. You'll be meeting people where they are – both literally and figuratively – whether that’s in community spaces, online, or in partnership with other services. Your work will focus on those who are most at risk of poor sexual health outcomes, helping to empower individuals with the tools, information, and support they need to take control of their wellbeing.
No two days will look quite the same, and you’ll be involved in everything from organising community testing events to running workshops and signposting people to services like PrEP, PEP, and STI testing. You might also help support people living with HIV, building confidence and community.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for people who are kind, non-judgmental, flexible in their approach, and comfortable having open conversations. You’ll need to be a good communicator, and ideally have experience working with people from diverse or marginalised backgrounds.
You don’t need to be a sexual health expert. What matters most is your ethos – we’ll give you full training and ongoing support. If you’ve got experience working with groups, delivering workshops, or community outreach, that’s a bonus too.
You’ll need to be based in either Cornwall or Gloucestershire and ideally have a driving licence and access to a car, as getting to some of the people we support can mean going off the beaten track.
Why join Eddystone?
We’re a small team, but we’re mighty. We believe in supporting our staff with training, flexibility, and a workplace culture that genuinely values each individual. In return, you’ll get:
-
A permanent contract, full-time (37.5 hours) – with part-time options considered
-
Salary starting at £23,810 and rising to £25,000 depending on experience
-
Flexible, hybrid working options
-
Generous annual leave (including your birthday off!)
-
A team that’s supportive, down-to-earth, and passionate about what they do
