South West Statistics
- There are more people living with HIV than ever before in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. In 2013 there were an estimated 1,478 people living with HIV in the area.
- Nearly one in four (24%) of these people were undiagnosed.
- There were 182 new HIV diagnoses in 2013 in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset – a 12% increase on 2012 when 163 people were diagnosed.
- A total of 136 men were newly diagnosed - 75% of the total - and 46 women
